Chair and Vice Chair of the Representative Council 2026

We are looking for a Chair and Vice Chair for the next year, and applications are now open!

The Representative Council (edustajisto or “edari” in Finnish) is the highest decision-making body of KY. Its main purpose is to ensure that KY acts in the best interest of its members.

The Representative Council decides on all major issues of the association, therefore determining what KY is, what it stands for and what KY actually does today and in the years to come. The Council operates at the very heart of KY, providing a great perspective on what’s happening within our community. The council decides on matters such as strategy, the action plan, budget, future premises, and updates to KY’s regulations.

The Chair and Vice Chair of KY’s Representative Council are positions of responsibility from 1.1.2026–31.12.2026. The Chair must have excellent communication skills in both Finnish and English, though this requirement does not apply to the Vice Chair. KY’s Representative Council will elect the Chair and Vice Chair.

All materials must be in English and they will be sent to the KY Representative Council. Introductions and pictures will be published here.

27.10.2025 at 17:00 Application period opens (KY’s Representative Council Chair and Vice Chair).
13.11.2025 at 23:59 Deadline to apply for the Chair and Vice Chair.
24.11.2025 at 17:00 Panel for candidates applying for the Chair or Vice Chair. Right after the panel, the Chair and the Vice Chair will be elected.

Applicants have the option to express their interest until the start of the panel discussion for all applicants. However, we kindly request that applicants meet the suggested deadline.
