IT Coordinator

Aalto University Business Students (KY) is looking for an IT Coordinator for 17.8.2026–3.9.2027

Aalto University Business Students (KY) is a student-centered non-profit association that provides its members with services and benefits, student advocacy, and memorable experiences. KY has approximately 5,200 members who study at the Aalto University School of Business. 

We are looking for an IT Coordinator to join us 17.8.2026–3.9.2027. After this period, you have the possibility of continuing to work with us. 

The responsibilities of IT Coordinator include:

  • KY's user IT support and management, including equipment, software, and networks
  • Participation in developing KY's bigger projects, depending on the need for IT solutions and the electronic operating environment, together with the rest of the communications and/or premises sector
    • For example participation in the introduction of IT and AV equipment in the new KY building
  • Cooperating with, coordinating, and supporting all KY volunteers in IT-related matters under KY’s control
  • Equipment purchases (e.g. computers, software, AV equipment, etc.)
  • Maintaining and developing the association’s data privacy matters in cooperation with the Executive Director
  • Maintaining and developing the association’s website in cooperation with the communications sector
  • Providing IT, AV, and data privacy training for office staff and volunteers
  • Supporting external renters of KY premises with usage of tech equipment
  • Being in charge of determined budget entities
  • Performing similar tasks for KY Foundation

Requirements for the applicant:

  • Self-management skills (e.g. time, resources) and the ability to work independently
  • Ability to make sustainable and financially responsible decisions regarding your own areas of responsibility
  • Project management skills
  • Ability to solve problems effectively, even when the subject matter is new
  • Service attitude and the ability to help volunteers with things they may not understand as well as you do
  • The desire and ability to learn new skills needed for the task
  • Knowledge and familiarity with Google's web software (Gmail, Calendar, Drive), networks, security practices, and basic understanding of AV systems
  • Positive attitude and great teamwork skills
  • Fluent skills in English, both written and verbal. Finnish language skills of any level are seen as an advantage 

The following are beneficial skills and proficiencies for this job: coding (basic understanding of HTML, CSS, JS), the Windows Server environment, and Webflow.

The post of IT Coordinator is 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The general office hours are between 10-16, but flexible starting and ending times are possible. The work is suitable for combining with studies. The main place of work is KY's office in Otaniemi, but Fridays are generally remote.  Occasional additional remote working days are negotiable. The salary is 1797 euros per month. KY offers its employees lunch benefit, sport and culture benefit, 5 days of study permit per study semester, comprehensive occupational health care, and more.

Invitations to interviews are sent out within two weeks after the application period ends. Interviews may include preliminary tasks to help us assess applicants’ skill levels. The final recruitment decision will be made on May 14th by the latest.
