Along with various other tasks, my day-to-day work consists of fulfilling our contracts with our corporate partners, negotiating new contracts, and leading the Corporate Relations Committee CORE with the corporate relations responsible from the KY Board. Just as there’s a lot to do, there’s a lot to learn – in this position you’ll grow confident in sales pitches and meetings, become efficient in business communications, and gain valuable leadership experience through carrying out sales projects and working with our wonderful volunteers.

What makes KY such a special workplace is that there is never a boring day at office. I’m excited to go to work every day, as I get to work with people that have become my close friends and I know I can always count on them for help. This is why KY is an amazing environment to try new things and learn new skills, as the people around you are incredibly supportive and want to help you succeed!

I had some experience of corporate relations from my previous volunteer positions, but my time at the KY Office has taught me more than I could’ve ever imagined – so don’t hesitate to apply if this position sparks your interest! You get the freedom of shaping this position to look like your own, while being trusted with the responsibility of creating the future of KY’s corporate relations.

Working in corporate relations at KY is the perfect opportunity to gain relevant work experience while advancing your studies!

In my role as one of the two corporate relations coordinators at KY I’m mainly responsible for maintaining existing partnerships as well as pursuing new ones. In practice this means tasks such as daily communication (emails, phone calls, online meetings, breakfasts etc.) with different companies, drawing up contracts, brainstorming and improving our operations, and organizing events. For me, the best part about this job has been the work culture at KY: you are given full responsibility over your work, and you’re trusted to know how to best lead yourself and your operations. This gives you the possibility to truly have an impact on how things are done at KY and drive your own goals.

Besides that, another huge plus that this role as a corporate relations coordinator has is that I’ve been able to get a sneak peak into the corporate world, which has tremendously helped me figure out what I want to do in the future and the direction I want to take my career in.

This year at KY has been the perfect opportunity for me to gain relevant experience and make valuable contacts, while also working on my degree. Balancing my studies and work has been made easy by the flexibility at KY - I’ve been able to pretty freely choose when and where I want to work.

I’m so happy I decided to apply for this job a year ago, and I strongly recommend this for anyone who wants work alongside their studies. Not to mention that working at KY never gets boring! You’re always surrounded by friends and there’s rarely a dull moment in Espilä :)
