Applicants for the KY Executive Board

Hello all! I’m Atte, a 2nd-year Strategic Management in a Changing World student from Helsinki. During this one year at KY, I’ve been a member of the Sports and Wellbeing Committee, a Master’s Tutor and now part of the Representative Council. I am applying to the KY Executive Board for I am passionate about creating great experiences for students, enquiring our members on how to better advocate for them and ensuring new international and Master’s -level students feel at home in Otaniemi. I love working with different people and am passionate about ensuring the best outcome regardless of the challenge!

My name is Eemil Tikkanen, mainly known as Tiki. My background at KY involves being the chair of KUJ and mandate member of KUVA in 2024, the treasurer of Aalto BT, and a tutor in 2025. Since I’ve had the pleasure of being at the heart of KY’s culture for these past two years, it is only natural for me to proceed to the next level and aim for the role of KY board member responsible for Culture and New students. Since the love for this community isn’t tied to one specific role, I’m also open to consider other roles.

Hi! I’m Henna, a fourth-year marketing student at Aalto. It would be fair to say that my Aalto journey has been shaped more by KY than just lectures—and I’ve loved every second of it. Through years of my active involvement, I’ve gained valuable experience, perspective, and genuine love for this community. I’d be excited to give one more year to the community I love and to continue building roots in KY Otaniemi, especially now that it’s going to be the year we prepare for our move to our new KY building.

I’m Jaakko, 25 years old and a fourth year Business Analytics student. When I started in Aalto, I never saw myself getting involved in volunteering, yet here I am. After a few different volunteering experiences, I’m now applying for the Premises and CoRe roles, where I believe I can contribute the most and make a meaningful impact on the KY community. I’m calm and solution-oriented, someone who thinks before acts and looks for the best outcome for everyone. My experience across associations has given me a clear understanding of their needs and potential and the motivation to help them thrive.

Hello, my name is J-P Virtanen. I am applying for the board of KY because I deeply care about this community and want to ensure that KY truly benefits all of its members. I have already done quite a bit at KY, but feel that there is still so much more in me to give. Outside of KY I love hiking, going to the gym, reading books and playing tabletop role-playing games with my friends.

Hello KY! I’m Julia, a fourth-year ISM student and a second-year chemical engineering student. I’m social, energetic, and not afraid to speak up when it matters. Over the years I have had the chance to volunteer across Otaniemi at KY, AYY, Process Engineering Students Guild, and Junction. These experiences have taught me a lot about KY and how its community could be developed and strengthened. I’d love to bring my experience, creativity and enthusiasm to the KY Executive Board of 2026 to help build a KY that feels open, welcoming and homelike for all its members! <3

Hello KY! My name is Matias Ahtiainen, and I am a third-year Accounting student applying for the KY Board of 2026. As a person, I’m easily approachable, reliable, and determined. Over the past two years at KY, I’ve had the chance to take part in many different volunteering roles and gotten to know the community from several perspectives. KY has become a really important part of my life, and I want to continue contributing to the community that has given me so much.

Hello! I’m Niklas, and I’m a 22-year-old third-year ISM student from Helsinki with a deep passion for our community and its development. During my tenure at KY thus far I’ve been part of various organizations, such as a subcommittee board member and more recently as part of a subject club board. These two action-packed years have provided me with invaluable experience in what it’s like working within our community. I’m applying to the KY Executive Board for 2026 because I want to contribute to shaping KY’s future as we’re entering a new, exciting chapter!

Hello KY! I’m Okko, a third-year ISM student. I’m applying for the KY Board because I want to contribute to a community that has grown to mean a lot to me. I love taking on challenges, learning new things, and pushing myself. I believe I can bring my knowledge and experience to the Board to help build a KY that truly offers the best study years for its members. I’m motivated to bring this energy and genuine care for KY into the Board next year.

Hi, I’m Saku, a third-year accounting student with a lot of love for KY. I’m a people person who wants to help KY grow deep roots in Otaniemi and I believe that the new KY house will bring a lot of opportunities to do that. I believe that KY’s events should be places where everyone feels welcome so that we can build a community where all the members have a sense of belonging.

I’m Tatu Lehtisyrjä, a fifth-year ISM student with plenty of experience from my time at KY. I’ve also been active on the other side of Aalto through my engineering studies and volunteering at AYY. Having gained so much from KY over the years, I now want to give back by serving on the KY Board. There, I hope to use my experience and enthusiasm to help develop KY further and support our community in the best possible way so that others may have similar or even better opportunities that I have had. Hi! <3 I’m Unna Jahnukainen, and I’m a 3rd year marketing student. During my years at KY, I’ve developed a deep love for this community and truly found my home here. I would love to be a part of improving KY, so that all current and future generations could make memories at KY, that last a lifetime. Making KY feel like a valuable community to all of our members, improving our social media channels and assuring a smooth integration for Probba to Otaniemi would be my main priorities as a member of the Board.

I’m Vu (Vic) Le, a third-year international student from Vietnam — half the world away from home— who has fallen in love with the Finnish student community & culture. For me, KY is its members, welcoming, open, and warm. It is also thanks to these folks that I’ve found a sense of belonging here at Aalto. Therefore, I wish to give back to the community and make every single Kylteri, especially internationals, feel welcome. I hope to do so by serving on the Executive Board of KY in 2025.
