Banks provide the necessary infrastructure for society to function. Banks offer intriguing career prospects, chances to learn, advance, and grow, as well as opportunities to do meaningful work. In this blog post, we provide you with a brief introduction to SEB, a Northern European financial services group, and share what we do and value in our business.
SEB was founded in 1856 in Sweden and has since evolved into a prominent financial services group across the Nordic region. In Finland, we established our presence in 1984, and today, we are a team of 300 professionals operating from our welcoming and modern office in Eteläesplanadi. In Finland, our focus is on corporate and investment banking, wealth management, and corporate card services. Our clientele spans across large corporations, institutional clients, individual customers, and family offices. We offer a diverse range of financial services and take pride in being trusted advisors and strategic partners for both our corporate and private clients.
We take responsibility for how we conduct our business and how we affect our customers, employees, shareholders and society at large. At SEB we support our customers in the transition to a more sustainable future because we strongly believe that a sustainable society is economically beneficial for all our stakeholders as well as for society at large. We believe we can make the greatest positive impact by partnering with our customers and supporting them on their transition journeys. We are committed to the change and our strategy is aligned with the Paris Agreement and the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. You can learn more about sustainability at SEB and how we actively support the net zero transition here.
Corporate citizenship is about how our business impacts society, and we always strive to take an active part in building for the future. For fourth year in a row, we have a global campaign that aims to support gender equality. This year’s campaign is called “Entreprenorm” and it focuses on equal entrepreneurship. At SEB, we want to change the entreprenorm in a way that more women can pitch their ideas, lead, own, and shape the future. You can read more about the Entreprenorm campaign here.
Internship opportunities at SEB
At SEB, we believe in fresh thinking, new working methods, and innovation to create a fairer and more sustainable world. One of the ways we deliver on that is by involving university students in various programmes. In Finland we have four different trainee and internship programmes: Helsinki Internship Programme, LC&FI Summer Internship Programme, Corporate Finance Analyst Internship and International Trainee Programme. These programmes are designed to offer students an opportunity learn about financial industry, develop new skills, and see what an organization like SEB does in practise. We are proud of our engagement, job satisfaction and welcoming organization culture that is a great place for personal and professional development. You can discover more about our internship and trainee opportunities here and join our talent pool here.
