Working as an association coordinator at KY means being part of an upbeat, encouraging, and inspiring community. Every day, I collaborate with motivated and creative individuals who help KY’s associations and clubs succeed. My role is to provide them with the resources and guidance necessary to run their activities smoothly. This includes, for instance, communicating with various groups via Telegram, organizing annual training sessions for volunteers, and hosting roundtable
discussions for association representatives.
You can also find me a couple of times a week at the ”panekoppi,” working as one of three service advisors. My duties there include managing and updating keys for volunteers, answering their questions, selling merchandise etc.
As an association coordinator, I also serve as the vice chair of the Sports and Wellbeing Committee (LiHy). My responsibility is to help lead the committee alongside the KY Board’s Sports and Wellbeing Responsible, manage meeting documentation, and oversee the annual budget. Together with Sports and Wellbeing Responsible, we also have the rewarding task of recruiting new members for LiHy.
Part of my job has been being a member of toto (subsidies committee). There my responsibility is to examine applications and be one of the decision makers on annual subsidies and project grants. Being part of toto has been very rewarding and fascinating, it has also been a great way to support our community.
Managing the financial side, such as invoices and expenses, has really strengthened my organizational and administrative skills. While these practical experiences are highly valuable, it is the people who truly make this role meaningful. Committee work has brought some wonderful individuals into my life, and I am very grateful for all the memories we have already shared.
One of the greatest benefits of working at KY is the flexibility, which allows for a healthy balance between work and studies. Even more importantly, the strong sense of community makes tackling any challenge easier, as there is always support from my colleagues and committee members. Every day in Espilä brings something new, and it is always a joy to come to work thanks to my fantastic coworkers.
For anyone who enjoys collaborating with others and giving back to the KY community, this role offers a fantastic opportunity to develop new skills, build meaningful connections, and work in an environment that inspires personal and professional growth.
