Board Member Atte's Blog

by

Hello hello!

‍
My name is Atte, and I’ve been responsible for Master’s Students, Academic Affairs and
Internationality in the KY Board this year.

‍
When I started my Master’s studies back in 2024, I felt pretty adamant about the plan I had
set for myself. No more games, no more getting involved in volunteering, just get that
degree and get out. As life would have it, it didn’t take much convincing nor time for me to
fall down the rabbit hole and discover everything KY had to offer. After a year in one of our
incredible committees and during the latter half of 2025, the idea of applying for a position
in the KY board had already become an undeniable part of my consciousness. I still
wanted to contribute. I wanted to see what the hype was all about.

‍
To say that 2026 has been an unforgettable year would be a drastic understatement, and I
find it hard to describe the significance of all the experiences that I’ve undergone during
this time. Leading Master’s Committee, organizing events, being involved in academic
matters conducted at the School of Business and getting to meet our international friends
at both Uken and Nordic Forum are just a mere handful of all the incredible things I’ve
been involved in.

‍
I’ve also felt immensely privileged to have been able to take the liberty to try, develop and
improve my responsibilities as a board member. This year, we’ve successfully piloted a
new event for Master’s students during orientation week, built the foundations for the
Educational Task Force, discussed the future of Student Representative positions and
started planning the outline for the student culture for the upcoming double degree with
Bocconi University.

‍
The individuals that I’ve met during this year are, without exaggerating, some of the most
hard-working, smart and fun people that I’ve had the chance to meet in my life. It goes
without saying that I could not have made any of the aforementioned things happen
without the help of my fellow board and committee members. The support and advice I’ve
gained during this time are an integral part of why I have and will continue to put in the
effort that will hopefully translate into something that benefits as many of our members as
possible.

‍
I did not know that I would end up here, yet I’m over the moon about the fact that I did.
Dare to take a chance, dare to experiment, for this is a position where you’re free to learn
and succeed as you are. This experience is unlike any other.
