Hello KY!
My name is Emma Karppinen. As my year as the KY Board member responsible
for Communications, Elections and Probba is coming to an end, I want to take a moment
to reflect on this year for the history books.
Serving on the KY Board has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life – from
special highlights like publishing the announcement of the new KY Building to our
members or celebrating with our Nordic friends in a russebus, to more everyday but
equally meaningful moments like morning schools and stakeholder meetings.
In communications, our goal has been to make KY’s channels more student-centric while
maintaining our professional image. Among my biggest projects this year have been
bringing the kylteris together by organizing the Representative Council Elections and
conducting the bi-annual KY Member Survey to better hear our members’ voices. It has
also been great to work with Probba and start the process of welcoming them to
Otaniemi!
But above all, what has made this year truly special is the people. Working on behalf of our
5000 members has felt deeply meaningful. I’m grateful for the friendships I’ve built within
KY, across Aalto and through national and international business student networks.
